Beyonce Heat, $44, drugstores
"I was so impressed! Most celebrity scents are candy-sweet. This one's also a daring woody oriental that actually smells like hot wood inside a sauna."

Elle Magazine - July 2010
Beyonce Heat Perfume

Heat Wave: ...Despite an epically hectic past few months in which [Beyonce has] scooped up six Grammy Awards; launched her spicy-sweet debut fragrance, Beyoncé Heat, with a late-night party in New York (it has since broken sales records for celebrity scents); and wrapped up her yearlong "I Am..." tour, the superstar shows not a hint of wear and tear....

Are there any similarities between music and perfume?
"When I write songs, I want them to be sensual and sexy, so women can go out on the dance floor and feel free and strong - like they can say whatever they want to say, especially to the opposite sex. And that's what I wanted Heat to do too. You feel more confident when you're wearing a fragrance you love." --Beyonce. [Photo caption] ...the star describes the fruity, woody, and floral notes of Beyonce Heat as "sexy and bold but also soft and feminine."

Beyonce Heat Perfume - Catch the Fever
The Bottle:
The bottle's curvaceously rounded base narrows to a sleek, squared neck and the red gradient effect gives the impression of a fire burning within. For the ultimate touch of luxury, the top of the bottle is edged with a gold band, inscribed with the words "Beyonce" and "HEAT", topped with an opulent cap.

Top Notes
Red Vanilla Orchid
Native to the European Alps, this rare and protected terrestial orchid emits a highly distinct spicy-floral fragrance reminiscent of cocoa and vanilla. In fact, upon further analysis, this flower scent contains many common constituents to these two famous flavors. Did we mention it is Beyonce's favorite ingredient?

Neroli Orpur
Neroli stems from the blossoms of the orange tree. These delicate blossoms are hand gathered in late April to mid May and the oil is produced through water distillation to preserve the fragile blossom. It has a refreshing yet distinctive, spicy aroma with sweet and flowery notes.

Magnolia Delavayi
A spectacular bloom of bold, creamy petals, this ancient flower evolved before bees. This Chinese magnolia variety's watery rose petal fragrance has been closely studied to eternally honor this unique, radiant flower. And did you know that the nickname for Beyonce's hometown is "The Magnolia City"?

Blush Peach
Sumptuously delicate and sensual, the soft rosy velvet skin of the peach unveils a silky porcelain texture beneath. A symbol of the state of Georgia, this Southern belle of the stone-fruits is feminine and sparkles.

Heart Notes
Honeysuckle Nectar
Native to the Northern Hemisphere, there are over 180 species of honeysuckle, with the most diverse selections hailing from China. Fluid and radiant, this American species hails from Texas (just like Beyonce!).

Almond Macaroon
Comforting yet senssual, this unique accord surrounds this fragrance with a subtle and luminous sparkle. Based on crisp warm almonds, this modern accord adds seductive femininity and radiant elegance.

Creme de Musk
Considered one of the most prized luxury items brought by Arabian ships from the East, musk is known for its reputation as an aphrodisiac and its staying power. Used in perfumery since the sixth century by Arab and Byzantine perfumers, today's perfumers use musk to add a warm, velvety, sensual quality to a fragrance.

Base Notes
Giant Sequoia Milkwood
The crimson, swirling wood-grain is elegant and unexpected in contrast to its commanding exterior. Found in the forests of California, this giant sequoia species captures the scent of the ancient forest in its entirety: coniferous notes from fallen pine needles; courmarin and safrole notes from the sun exposed bark; incense-related notes from neighboring cedar trees.

Tonka Bean
The seed of the Dipteryx odorata tree, its unassumingly wrinkled and black appearance belies a fragrance treasure reminiscent of vanilla, almonds, cinnamon and cloves. This exclusive ingredient is sustainably and ethically sourced through an exclusive partnership with a small community in Venezuela.

Modern Amber
Amber has always been regarded as magical and mysterious. Dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries throughout India and the surrounding region, ancient cultures abound with myths about the formation of amber. Radiant and warm, this modern amber glow adds luminosity to the fragrance.
